Considerations for PRP pre-treatment-
Contraindications to treatment:
- Pregnant/ breastfeeding
- Cancer within 6 years.
- Allergy to topical or any form of anaesthetic
- Keloid or hypertrophic scaring
- Taken oral retinoids: Roaccutane in the past 6 months.
Prior to treatment-
- Avoid excessive sun, electrolysis, depilatory creams and waxing for 5-7 days
- Avoid topical retinoids/ vitamin A for at least 3 days
- Avoid exfoliants, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA’s) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHA’s), hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide products for 3 days
- Avoid laser hair removal/ dermabrasion for at least 7 days
- Avoid skin peels for 6 weeks
